Even Keel Wind, formerly known as Invenergy California Offshore, a subsidiary of American-led Invenergy, was named official leaseholder of OCS-0565 by the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) on June 1, 2023.
Our team selected the project name “Even Keel Wind,” as it symbolizes the floating offshore wind technology the project will utilize. This name also embodies our team’s balanced and consistent approach to project development and our long-term stability as a partner that prioritizes impactful community investment, and tribal and stakeholder engagement, to deliver clean, reliable energy to California residents.
With over 20 years of experience responsibly developing clean energy projects, Invenergy understands the importance of prioritizing community engagement throughout all project development activities. Our team is on the ground engaging with Tribal Nations, fisheries organizations, interested community members, non-governmental organizations, elected officials, industry groups, and regional economic development organizations to ensure we advance a project that will benefit the communities in the project area and support the energy needs of the state of California.
In December 2022, Invenergy’s winning bid of $145.3 million secured lease OCS-P 0565. Invenergy is the only American-led company currently developing a multi-project portfolio of offshore wind in the U.S.
